Brushed Travertine Mosaic Tile |
Article Number: 1382 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 12:00 AM |
I am using brushed travertine mosaic tile on a shower floor and as a listello and, after reading your tips, it looks like I don't have to seal this, but can just use a grout release before grouting, then enhance my color with MB6. Is this correct and will it make the tile any more or less slippery if I enhance it? Slipping is of course a major concern. Also, will I have to seal the grout with an additional grout sealer to prevent staining of the grout, as I do when tiling with ceramic tile?
Thanks!
Dear
Leigh:
Your
routine is correct.
And no,
the application of the color-enhancer will not make the floor slippery: a
color-enhancer is strictly a below-surface (of the stone) product and it can
not – and in fact will not – affect in any way, shape or form the surface
itself of the stone, for none of the product will be left on it.
A
good-quality stone color-enhancer like MB-6 is also an excellent sealer and
therefore you will not need any additional sealing for the grout after its
application.
So
everything is fine and dandy, but… don't you forget to fill the holes in those
tiles!! (You didn't say anything about it.)
May I ask
you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?
Ciao and
good luck,
