Travertine and big dogs |
Article Number: 256 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Sat, Jul 28, 2007 at 12:00 AM |
We are getting ready to install new floors and I really want travertine but the person who will be installing them advised against travertine because we have an 80lb dog and he said her nails will scratch the floor. I have friends who have travertine with dogs and they don't have any problems but their dogs are smaller. What do you suggest? Thanks, Sandi
Dear Sandi:
First off, don't you even think for a split second of getting rid of the dog!! (I'm a sucker for dogs, as you can probably guess... :-))
Joking aside, the stone itself is not the problem. What could represent a problem is the way it is finished.
If the travertine that you have in mind is highly polished, then I would have to reluctantly agree with your setter. But if it is hone-finished (no shine), or tumbled, then your dog can be a happy camper and so can you.
May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at:

:-)
Ciao and good luck,
Maurizio Bertoli
