Bluestone slab countertop

My wife wants a bluestone slab counter top like one we saw recently installed at another house.  At that house the homeowner stated that she sealed it with a product that was safe for kitchen use, FDA approved and work great. It would look great in our kitchen but I'm concerned about it's practicality.  What do you think about this application for a bluestone and our success at sealing it?

Dear H. Victor:
I wouldn't consider getting a sandstone (bluestone) countertop in my kitchen and then having to rely on somethin in a bottle to enjoy it, not even if they'd give me money to get it!
But then again, my wife and I cook like maniacs and actually use and abuse our kitchen... :-)

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm? J

Ciao and good luck,
