granite stairs outside

Maurizio, We are currently redoing our outdoor stairs and patio, and are installing light grey granite. Does this need to be sealed? And how do you clean stains from the granite? Thank you

Dear Maria:

First, make sure that it's either flame-finished or bush-hammered. You do not want anything slippery (when wet), do you?!...

Second, you will not seal your stone: stone outdoors should never be sealed.

And how do you clean stains from the granite?

You don't. A few hard rains and our good ol' sun will take care of a few occasional stains here and there… (providing that you won't put any sealer to your stone; that would voids all bets.)

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm? J

Ciao and good luck,

Mauri z io Bertoli
