Carrerra Marble in Steam Shower

We have constructed a new bathroom. We are putting in a steam shower. My contracter has built many steam showers and is well versed in installing marble (as far as I know) and on how to prepare the shower to receive tiles. We are going to use a carrerra 5/8" polished small mosaic on our floor and ceiling and a piece of carrerra slab (polished) for our bench. I was pretty set on the combo (we are putting ceramic tiles on the rest of the walls). I am reading your website and getting very nervous about the marble polish fading and the discoloration. Am I making a mistake putting this marble in a steam shower? I am also planning on putting carrerra tiles on my floors and using slab on my counter tops. Any advice would be helpful. want to be able to sleep at night and know I made the right dedcsion. Thank You so very much.

Dear Lynda:

If you expect to keep your marble polished inside a steam shower stall, it is not going to happen! And there's nothing that you can do about it… L
