best type of travertine to use in a shower

i was wondering if you could let me know what the best type of travertine would be for a shower stall. (honed filled, honed not filled, tumbled or polished?)And what would the appropriate grout space be? thank you for your advice

Dear Matt:

First it has to be a good grade travertine. Second no mater what kind of finish, it must be filled. And last but definitely not least – in fact is the most important factor – the very best travertine (or any other stone for that matter) is the guy who's going to install it! I've seen all too many shower stall failures because of flawed installation for me not to keep stressing this to the limit and beyond!

And since maintenance begins way before the cutting of the ribbon, t he full version of our maintenance guidelines – a 7-page document considered by many as an industry benchmark – is available in pay- per-download format in our Educational Literature section at:  http://www.mbstone.com/literature/literature.htm . In there you will find a few yet priceless tips of the proper way to install a natural stone shower stall.

And remember, every single penny of the cost of the literature will be used to support this site and its cause: your cause.

Finally, keep in mind that we need your support to help us helping you!

Will you please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Thank you

Ciao and good luck,
