limestone

I think I'm going to be sick. We just moved into our house yesterdy that we have spent the last year building. I have limestone everywhere--on several counters and floors. (I know, I know, saying limestone isn't saying much). I have several differnt kinds from a denser stone to a rustic very porous stone--all I purchased at Walker Zanger. When I went to google how to clean it, I ran into several websites where you basically say you wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Well, too late for me. It has been sealed with an impregnator but who the heck knows if it's been sealed correctly. Can you recommend the best prodcut for my limestone. Specifically, can you tell where I can get your MB products. I know you make several products that might help. And could you give me any advice on how to get out acid etching once it occurs, as I am assuming it will. My only saving grace is that all my limestone (and I used several different kinds) is pretty rustic and a few stains will just blend in. Still, I want to protect it best I can. Thanks for your help. -Renna, Texas

Dear Renna:
While it's true that in many occasions I mention MB products as a possible choice, it is not my habit to disclose where you can get them. May all the gods in the heavens forbid that some "suspicious" individual would go on record saying that all what I do to help people out is nothing but a front to sell a couple of bottles of my products here and there!!
That said, what can I tell you?... You've got all that limestone and now you have to try to take care of it.
As for acid etching, since I assume that your limestones are not polished, all you will ever need are a few different grits (from 120 to 400) of good ol' metal-grade sandpaper.
And, BTW, I don't sell that!! :-)

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
