Blue Lagos

Hello Maurizio, I have come across a issue with Blue Lagos and I wanted to get your input. It seems after having Blue Lagos installed for flooring in my home the stone has began cupping and cracking. I have had the flooring ripped out and reinstalled thinking it was the installer but the same thing has happened again. I am at a loss and I was hoping you could provide me with an explaination of why the Blue Lagos would performe in such a way?

No installer – no matter how incompetent – could possibly cause what happened to your floor. After all, he used regular thinset – not certainly something that's coming from the moon. I really feel sorry for him thinking about the aggravations and humiliation that he had to endure, because a merchant that doesn't know stone from whipped cream wanted to defend his sale.

The answer is quite simple: Blue Lagos is probably the crappiest stone that one could possibly think of.

Of course, if marblecleaning.org could have its way, stones like that would end up being banned by the market, but until then the consumers are at the mercy of an industry that's virtually totally unregulated and that doesn't give a rat's behind about their customers, mostly out of sheer ignorance.
