St. Laurent Dark Brown Tile w/ Whitish Veins - Cloudy Looking

Q. On some of the St. Laurent marble tiles we are having put down in our foyer the area around the veins is cloudy and we do not like it. Others are sharp and clear and beautful looking. Do you know why this is? My plan is to return the cloudy ones for non-cloudy ones. Some look like they almost have a fingerprint smudge type stain that won't come off. What is that?! Thank you for your help - we are very nervous about letting the job be completed... None of the other answers refer to this.

A. This is a common problem with this particular marble. However, since you have not yet laid all of the tiles, returning the ones you don't like and exchanging them would be your best bet.

Once it is all installed, you may want to contact a stone restoration pro and have them do a quick polish and cleanup.
