Marble in my steam shower -

Q. I have a steam shower - 10 yrs old w/ marble. After each usage I wipe off with a sponge. The marble has lost all of its shine... what can I do to bring the luster back to the marble?

A. My first thought is that your marble is etched, but that won't happen unless you're using cleaning products with acid in them. Alternatively, it could be mineral deposit and soap film build-up, but since you're wiping the shower down after every use, that doesn't seem very likely. Try scraping an area with a razor blade and see if the 'dullness' can be scraped off. If it can be, use a good quality soap film remover for stone. It will help remove both mineral deposits and soap film.

Otherwise, you should call in a stone restoration contractor to repolish the marble.
