What should I use to seal red bordeaux granite countertops? |
Article Number: 1919 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Thu, Nov 12, 2009 at 12:00 AM |
Q. I had red bordeaux granite kitchen countertop installed about a year ago. I was told to use a sealer every 12 month or so (spray). What should I use?. Thanks, Kay
A. Hi Kay- The best way to see if your granite requires sealing is to do a very simple test. Take a couple of palm sized puddles of water and let them sit for 5 to ten minutes. Wipe away the water and see if a darker mark is left. If there is then you need to seal your tops. There are plenty of sealers on the market that you can use.
