fake or faux black and copper tone granite

Q.i caught my contractor coloring (with a black sharpie perm marker)on a very white spot on my countertop that i pointed out. he also was coloring all white seams where the bullnose on my island and all corners of my new countertops. homedepot said this is fraud! it's probably fake granite. is this true?

Why was the contractor trying to hide white spots on the granite?

Do the white spots belong there or did something happen?
